Scripture

We believe that all Scripture, the Old and New Testaments, is the only inerrant, inspired Word of God, written by holy men of God as they were moved by the Holy Spirit (2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Pet. 1:21). It is the truth (John 17:17; 1 Thess. 2:13; 2 Tim. 2:15). As God's truth it reveals God and His will to man (1 Cor. 2:9-12). Scripture is complete and no further revelations are being given (Heb. 1:1-2).

God

We believe in only one living and true God as the infinite, perfect and eternal Spirit, in whom all things have their source, support and end (Is. 45:21; Eph. 4:6; Gen. 1:1; Acts 17:28; Heb. 11:3; Lk. 24:39; Col. 1:15; Ps. 90:2; 1 Tim. 6:16).  We believe in God as omniscient (Heb. 4:13; Acts 15:18), omnipresent (Ps. 139:7; Jer. 23:24;Amos 9:2-3), omnipotent (Jer. 10:12-13; Gen. 35:11; Gen. 1:1,26), eternal (Ps. 90:2; Ps.102:24-27; Heb. 1:12) and immutable in His being, holiness, justice, love, and truth (Mal. 3:6, Is. 6:3; 1 Jn. 4:8; James 1:17).  We believe that God is spirit (Jn. 4:24) and personal  (Ex. 3:14; Acts 14:15; Gen. 6:6; Gen.1:26).  We believe that God created out of nothing (Gen. 1:1,26; Jn. 1:1-3; Heb. 11:3) and sustains the entire universe (Heb. 1:3; Col 1:15-17).

Jesus Christ

We believe in Jesus Christ as the eternal Son of God. The Son is from eternity the only
begotten of the Father. Being conceived of the Holy Spirit, He was born man of the virgin Mary (Jn. 3:16; Heb. 1:5-10; Luke 1:35; Matt. 1:18-25), in order to fulfill the purpose of God from the foundation of the world to redeem us from the eternal curse and bring about our eternal salvation by making full atonement for our sins through His vicarious suffering and death on the cross of Calvary (Jn. 1:14,29; Mark 10:45; Heb. 10:10-14; 1 Pet. 1:18-29; Is. 53:4-6). He took upon Himself the likeness of sinful flesh (Heb. 2:14), thus being true God and also perfect man (1 Jn. 3:5; 1 Tim. 2:5), being made in all things like as we are, yet without sin (Heb. 4:15). He rose triumphantly from the grave the third day and ascended into heaven, and is now at the right hand of God interceding in our behalf; from whence He shall come again in visible form to judge the living and the dead and to establish His rule as Lord of lords and King of kings (John 20 and 21; Acts 1:9-11; 2 Tim. 4:1; 1 Tim. 6:15; Jn. 5:22-29; Matt. 25:31ff).

Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person in the Godhead and proceeds from the Father through the Son (Jn. 15:26). He took part in the creation of the universe (Gen. 1:2; Job 33:4; Ps. 33:6). He directed God's servants in revealing the will of God to mankind (1 Pet. 1:10-11). He is the author of the Scriptures (2 Pet. 1:20-21; Rev. 2 and 3). In this age of grace He reproves the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgment (Jn. 16:8-11). He restrains the progress of evil until God's purposes are accomplished (2 Thess. 2:7). He regenerates the penitent soul (Jn. 3:3,5), unites them by His baptism to the body of Christ (1 Cor. 12:13), lives in the body of the believer, which is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 3:16; 1 Cor. 6:19), gives the believer the assurance of salvation (Rom. 8:16), comforts (Jn. 14:16-17), teaches and guides the believer into all truth (Jn. 16:13). He will sanctify the believer (2 Thess. 2:13), empower him for life and service (Eph. 3:16; 1 Cor. 2:1-4) and will quicken his mortal body (Rom. 8:11).  We believe that some gifts of the Holy Spirit such as speaking in tongues and miraculous healings were temporary. We believe that speaking in tongues was never the necessary sign of the baptism of the Holy Spirit and that full deliverance of the body from sickness and death awaits the consummation of our salvation in the resurrection (Acts 4:8; Rom. 8:23).

Trinity

We believe in the unity of the Godhead, commonly known as the Trinity. This Trinity is made up of three distinct persons, namely: God the Father (Rom. 1:7), God the Son (Heb. 1:18), God the Holy Spirit (Acts 5:3-4). These three, though one in essence, are equal in their divine perfection, yet individual in personality, and perform different but harmonious functions in the great plan of redemption (Mt. 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14; Eph. 2:18; Jn. 15:26; Jn. 10:30; Jn. 16:14).

Satan

We believe that Satan is a real supernatural personality, a fallen angel of great power, cunning, and wickedness, the enemy of God and of all good, seeking the destruction of Christ and the eternal ruin of every soul (Mk. 1:13; Jn. 13:2; Mt. 13:19,39), but is limited in the scope of his power by God (Job 1:12, 2:1-6; Lk. 22:31ff; 1 Cor. 10:13). We believe that Satan introduced sin into this world,  when he by his subtlety  brought about the transgression and fall of our first parents (Gen. 3:1-15). Since then he and the host of fallen angels under his control dominate the present world system deceiving mankind, obstructing the course of the Gospel and blinding the minds of the unbelieving (Eph. 6:11 12; Eph. 2:2; 2 Cor. 4:4; 1 Jn. 5:19).  We believe that Christ by His death on the cross defeated and judged Satan and stripped him of his power over death (Col. 2:15; Jn. 12:31, 16:11; Heb. 2:14; 1 Cor. 15:54-56), and secured victory for the believer over all the wiles of the devil (1 Jn. 4:4; Eph. 6:11-13; 1 Jn. 5:4-5; 1 Cor.15:57; James 4:7).  We believe that Satan is doomed first to be cast from his present abode, then at Christ's Second Coming to be bound a thousand years, and finally to be cast into the lake of fire where he and his angels shall be tormented forever and ever (Mt. 25:41; Rev. 20:10).

Angels

We believe in the existence of a distinct order of created, yet spiritual beings known as angels (Mt. 18:10; Mk. 13:41; 1 Pet. 3:22). We believe that angels are ministering spirits sent forth to minister to those who shall be heirs of salvation (Heb. 1:14); they guard, defend, and deliver God's people (Acts 5:19; 2 Kings 6:17; Acts 12:7-11; Ps. 34:7). They are eyewitnesses of the church and the believer (1 Tim. 5:21; 1 Cor. 4:9), and function in ranks and orders. They assist God in executing judgments upon the earth (Is. 37:36; Rev. 9:1-5; 2 Sam. 24:16-17; Gen. 19:13-15; Rev. 19:17).

Man

A. His Creation
We believe that by an immediate act of God, man was created in His image (Gen. 1:26-27); possessing righteousness, holiness, and wisdom (Ecc. 7:29); for the purpose that man should be the object of His love, to praise and glorify Him (Eph. 1:4-6), to replenish the earth with Godfearing people, and to subdue and have dominion over the earth and all animate creatures upon it (Gen. 1:26-28, 9:1-2).

B. His Fall
We believe that man was subjected to trial in the garden of Eden (Gen. 2:15-17), and voluntarily and consciously transgressed God's command (Gen. 3:1-3,6), and so fell from his holy estate (Gen. 3:16-19; Gen. 2:16, 17). Thus, man became alienated from God (Gen. 3:7-13; Eph. 4:18; Col. 1:21), and became physically, morally and spiritually depraved (Rom. 1:19-32). As a result of the fall, sin was imputed upon the entire human race (Rom. 5:12; 1 Cor. 2:14). Man's heart, being desperately wicked (Jer. 17:9-10), leads to acts of sin in his life and finally to just condemnation (Rom. 5:18).

C. His Redemption
We believe that God as the sovereign ruler must punish sin (Rom. 6:23). Christ, the Son of
God, voluntarily (Jn. 10:17-18) offered Himself on the cross as the perfect sacrifice for sin, the just suffering for the unjust, bearing sin's curse, and tasting death for every man (John 1:29; Heb. 9:11-12; 1 Tim. 2:5-6; 2 Cor. 5:21; Gal. 3:13). Nothing prevents the salvation of the greatest sinner on earth but his own stubborn will, his voluntary rejection of Jesus Christ (Jn. 3:14-16,36; Acts 16:31).

D. His Resurrection
We believe every person will be raised up; the saved unto life everlasting and the unsaved to eternal condemnation (Jn. 5:28,19).

Salvation

A.  Salvation By Grace Through Faith
We believe that salvation is by grace through faith, that salvation is the free gift of God (Rom.3:24, 6:23), neither merited nor secured in part or in whole by any virtue or work of man (Titus 3:5; Rom. 1:16, 4:4-5), but received only by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (Jn. 3:16, 6:28-29; Acts 16:30-31; Eph. 2:8-9), in whom all true believers have as a present possession the gift of eternal life, a perfect righteousness (Rom. 3:21-31, 5:1), sonship in the family of  God, deliverance and security from all condemnation, every spiritual resource needed for life and godliness, and the divine guarantee that they shall never perish (1 Jn. 5:13; Rom. 3:22; Gal.3:26; Jn. 5:24; Eph. 1:3; 2 Pet. 1:3; Jn. 10:27-30). This salvation includes the whole man, spirit and soul and body (1 Thess. 5:23-24), and apart from Christ there is no  possible salvation (Jn.14:6; Acts 4:12).

B.  Sanctification
We believe that sanctification may be viewed as positional, progressive, and complete.  Believers are positionally sanctified at the time of salvation when they receive a standing that is perfect "in Christ" (Heb. 10:10,14; 1 Cor. 6:11), that believers are progressively sanctified in their experience in daily life when they "grow in grace" and are changed from glory to glory by the power of the Holy Spirit (2 Cor 7:1, 3:18; 2 Pet. 3:18).   We believe progressive sanctification should result in righteous living and good works, not as the procuring cause of salvation in any sense, but as an evidence and fruit (1 Jn. 3:9-11, 4:19, 5:4; Eph. 2:8-10; Titus 2:14; Mt. 7:16-18; 1 Cor. 15:10); and therefore as Christians we should keep the word of our Lord (Jn. 14:23), seek the things which are above (Col. 3:1), walk as He walked (1 Jn. 2:6) and be careful to maintain good works (Titus 3:8).  Finally, we believe that Christians will be completely sanctified when they see the Lord and "shall be like Him" (1 Jn. 3:2; 1 Thess. 3:13, 5:23).

C.  Eternal Security and Assurance
We believe that everyone who trusts in Jesus Christ has eternal life (Jn. 3:16, 5:24; 1 Jn. 5:11-13), that God loves the believer to the end (Jn. 13:1), that God purposes to keep the believer (Jn. 10:28-30), that God will present the believer faultless before Himself (Jude 24), that Jesus Christ continually intercedes for the believer (Heb. 7:25; 1 Jn. 2:1), that the Holy Spirit has sealed believers until the day of redemption (Eph 4:30) and that the Bible guarantees that nothing can separate believers from Christ (Rom. 8:28-30). We believe that the person who has trusted in Jesus Christ's substitutionary death on the cross as the only way to heaven should enjoy the assurance of eternal life (Jn. 6:47), and that while God sometimes disciplines believers in infinite love (Heb. 12:6) when they persistently sin and fail to judge themselves (1 Cor. 11:31), He will never break the relationship established in salvation (Heb. 6:18-19).

Church

We believe that the church as an organism (the universal church) includes all regenerate believers gathered out of the world between Pentecost and the imminent, pre- tribulational Rapture of the church (Mt. 16:18; Acts 2:47; 1 Thess. 4:16-17), while as an organization (local body) it includes believers united for the service of Christ in any given assembly.  We believe that the one true church is the spiritual body of the Lord Jesus (Eph. 4:4) into which all true believers of the present age are baptized immediately by the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 12:12-13 with 1:2).  We believe that the local, visible church is an institution of divine appointment and is composed of professed, baptized believers in Christ; voluntarily joined together and meeting at stated times to worship, to fellowship, to proclaim the Gospel, to disciple new believers, to observe the ordinances (believer's water baptism and the Lord's Supper), and when necessary to administer and accept discipline.
 (Heb. 10:25; Acts 2:41-47; Mt. 28:20; 1 Cor. 11:23-26; Mt. 18:17)

Last Things

A.  Second Coming of Christ
We believe in the personal, visible, imminent, premillennial return of Christ (Acts 1:11; Rev. 1:7; Jn. 14:3; Titus 2:13; Rev. 5:9-10, 20:4-6).  As the first coming covers a period of events, so also His Second Coming covers a period of events, such as the pre-tribulational Rapture (1 Thess. 4:13-17; 1 Cor. 15:50-52), the Great Tribulation (Mt. 24:21; 2 Thess. 2:3-10), the revelation of Christ at the end of the Great Tribulation period (Mt. 24:29-31), the Millennium (Rev. 20:1-9), and the Great White Throne judgment (Rev. 20:10-15).  The day nor the hour of the beginning of Christ's Second Coming no one knows (Mt. 24:36-42), but we can know when it is near at hand (1 Tim. 4:1-3; 2 Tim. 3:1-5; James 5:1-9; Mt. 24:14, 24:32-34).  This hope of the Second Coming of Christ to receive His own (1 Thess. 4:13-17) is a purifying element in the life of the believer (1 Jn. 3:3) and a warning to the unbeliever.  (Mt. 24:42; 2 Pet. 3:10)

B.  The Resurrection
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust (Jn. 5:28-29; 1 Cor. 15:22) to receive the things done in the body (2 Cor. 5:10; Rev. 20:12), and that the believer's body shall be fashioned like unto His glorious body (Phil. 3:21), but there is no description of the body of the unbeliever.

C.  Recompense of the Just and the Unjust
We believe that the believers' works will be judged according to their deeds here upon earth (1 Cor. 3:11-15; 2 Cor. 5:10; Rev. 22:12) and that they will receive rewards or crowns for their service (James 1:12; 1 Pet. 5:4; 2 Tim. 4:8; 1 Thess. 2:19; Rev. 4:4; 1 Cor. 9:25; Rev. 3:11). We believe that the unbelievers' wage for sin is death (Rom. 6:23) and that in the end they will be judged according to their works (Rev. 20:11-15).

D.  The Final State
We believe that the wicked after death will be in torment (Lk. 16:23) until the final judgment at the Great White Throne, when they will be eternally separated from God and cast into the lake of fire, more commonly known as everlasting hell (Mt. 25:41; Jn. 3:36; Rev. 20:14-15). We believe that the final state of believers is far better than this present life in the body (Phil. 1:23; 1 Jn. 3:2; Rev. 14:13) and that their final and eternal home is in heaven, the New Jerusalem (Rev. 21-22:5).
